Sure, Christian Bale (The Dark Knight Rises) is known for being the one of the world’s biggest superheroes, Batman, but over the Christmas holidays, Bale became a real hero when he broke up a fight between two homeless people.

According to Contact Music, Bale was shopping near his Brentwood, Los Angeles home when he saw two homeless people arguing about something. After taking a look at the scene, Bale felt he had to step in.

“I could not believe what I was seeing,” a witness told the National Enquirer. “It wasn’t clear what the people were arguing about-but it soon became apparent that their conversation was heading toward a violent incident.”

According to the witness, one of the homeless men was about to hit the other man with his fist, but then Bale came in the middle of them and “acted like a referee,” telling them to break up the fight and move their issues to a place where there weren’t families who were trying to enjoy the surroundings.

Pretty crazy story, but it’s behavior worthy of a crime-fighter. Perhaps this is a case of life imitating art, or, to be less cynical about it, a good person doing the right thing at the right time.
