Demi Moore was hospitalized on January 24, 2012, reportedly to seek professional help for a substance abuse problem, exhaustion and to improve her overall health, TMZ is reporting. A friend of the ‘Margin Call’ actress called 911 at 10:45 pm, after she started shaking and acting as though she was suffering from a seizure, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s incident report. When paramedics responded to Moore’s L.A. home, they assessed her for half an hour, and then transported her to a local hospital.
Moore’s rep confirmed the actress was hospitalized, and added that “she looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends.” The rep added that Moore has also dropped out of ‘Lovelace,’ the upcoming biopic of former porn star Linda Lovelace. She was set to play a small role as feminist activist Gloria Gteinem, who took a stance against pornography.
