“The Hunger Games” has released a new viral site, Capitol Couture (Capitolcouture.pn). The tumblr-based site focuses on the fashion and disposable culture of the Capitol, with Effie Trinket as the site’s shining star.
According to the site, Capitol Couture will tell fans all about Capitol lifestyle:
“Whether you’re a Capitol fashionista seeking inspiration for your latest look or a District citizen tracking rumors about the Tributes and other celebs, Capitol Couture is the only place to turn for pictures and news reports on the fashion, trends and lifestyle that make Capitol living so grand.”
So far, the site has the scoop on the shoes Effie wears, real-life fashion houses the Capitol follows (Alexander McQueen, Mugler, Craig McDean), how to make the best impression with your appearance, and a feature on Effie herself. The site also advertises the movie’s tie-in nail polishes, Capitol Colours by China Glaze.
The site also boasts a soon-to-be competition that will allow the citizens of Panem (i.e. fans of the movie) to strive to be their district’s stylist. Make sure to check out the viral site to learn more about the competition.
