Demi Moore inhaled a dangerous amount of whip-its, the street name for a type of nitrous oxide inhalants, before she was rushed to the hospital, TMZ is reporting. As a result of the drug usage, the ‘Margin Call’ actress became semi-conscious in her home, leading a friend to call 911. Moore also suffered symptoms of a seizure after inhaling the nitrous oxide, which is a gas normally inhaled by younger people looking for a cheap high.

After being transported to the hospital from her Los Angeles home on January 23, 2012, she checked into a treatment facility the following day. Reports suggested that she was seeking treatment for substance abuse. However, Moore’s rep said she was seeking “professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall help.”

Moore’s friends, however, are saying she checked into rehab because she’s emotionally and physically exhausted after splitting from her husband of seven years, Ashton Kutcher. Moore ended the marriage after continuous reports that the ‘Two and a Half Men’ star was cheating on her surfaced. She is also reportedly upset that he’s been partying with other women recently, but still contacts her when he’s lonely. As a result of her recent health and personal issues, the actress has also dropped out of her latest film, ‘Lovelace.’
