This week on “Project Runway All-Stars,” the contestants had to make garments based on gelato flavors. However, that wasn’t the only catch. The contestants also had to make the garments in only six hours. That type of a task sounds virtually impossible, but the show is designed to test these all-stars, so this was really a “separate the wheat from the chaff” type of moment.

Of course, the contestants were pushed to the limit in both their emotional state and execution. The strain caused quite a few of the designers to produce flaws that normally wouldn’t happen if they had the proper amount of time, such as April’s purple party dress, which had an ill-made stiff top and the hemline which is longer in the front and shorter in the back.

The special judges for this challenge were Diane von Furstenberg and model Miranda Kerr, and it was announced that Kerr would wear the winning design to an industry function. The winner of the challenge was Michael, who created a pale pink, flowing satin dress. Mondo was the runner-up by creating an orange and green kaftan that reinterpreted the idea of cantaloupe gelato. The designer going home, sadly, was April.
