Halle Berry is afraid for her life and the life of her three-year-old daughter, Nahla, because of the death threats she has been receiving, TMZ is reporting. Law enforcement officials have confirmed that one of the Oscar winner’s stalkers, Robert Hoskins, who is mentally unstable, has escaped from a mental institution. He has made threats against her life, saying that he wants to slit her throat.

Hoskins has also threatened to slit Madonna’s throat in the past. He was shot by the singer’s bodyguard in 1995, after he trespassed onto her property.

Berry has asked the judge in her custody case for permission to move to France with Nahla as a result of Hoskins’ threats. Another one of her stalkers has also just been released from jail, which also prompted Berry’s interest in moving. However, her ex-boyfriend and Nahla’s father, Gabriel Aubry, is trying to stop the move, despite her concern that he’s purposely parading their daughter in front of the paparazzi almost daily.
