“Man of Steel” star Henry Cavill is currently in negotiations to star in the Legendary East film “The Great Wall.”

According to Variety, the film will be directed by Edward Zwick. Zwick has also co-written the script along with Marshall Herskovitz. The story idea originates from Max Brooks and Legendary Pictures chairman Thomas Tull. Producing the film are Zwick, Herskovitz Tull and Jon Jashni from Legendary Pictures. Also producing are Atlas entertainment’s Charles Roven and Alex Gartner.

The synopsis of the film revolves around the mystery of how the Great Wall of China was built. That’s really all that seems to have been revealed. I’m curious as to what Cavill’s role will be in the film since it’s not explained at all. I mean, I can assume he’s an outsider that’s coming to take a look at the marvel of the Great Wall as its being built or something like that, but I hope it’s not going to be another of these types of films. But I have a bad feeling about it. Hopefully, I’m wrong.
