Whitney Houston’s family is warning her ex-husband, Bobby Brown, to stay away from their 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, as they feel he just wants to gain access to the late singer’s fortune, TMZ is reporting. Houston’s family, including her mother, Cissy, fear Brown is reaching out to his daughter, the sole heir to Houston’s fortune, just to improve his own financial standing.
Friends of Houston’s family have reportedly contacted Brown to tell him he’s not welcome at her funeral, or in Bobbi Kristina’s life. Brown was turned away from contacting his daughter by her other family members. He has also been warned to stay away from the singer’s $20 million estate, which could double by the end of the year.
Houston’s family has always had negative feelings towards Brown, because they feel he was the driving force in her life that led her down a destructive path. They feel he led her to substance abuse, and is largely responsible for Bobbi Kristina’s drug and alcohol struggles as well.
Brown’s reps have told TMZ that he’s well aware of the animosity his ex-wife’s family holds towards him. He also wants to restore his relationship with them, for the sake of his daughter.
