The flurry of posters that are related to “The Dark Knight Rises” have come so rapidly that it’s hard to figure out which ones are real and which ones are professional-grade fan posters. The poster that website Mighty Optical Illusions has posted is so creative and clever, but is it official?

The poster is an optical illusion of Batman, his wings/cape outstretched. Below him is a silhouette of Gotham. All together, a picture of Bane is created. It’s not known at this point if the poster is a fan-made poster or a legitimate one being used by Warner Bros. Something tells me that it’s fanmade though. It seems to have that bit of an underground, “guerrilla marketing” feel to it that doesn’t feel like it comes from a big studio. Yes, WB has used the viral tactics before, but that was a manufactured underground feel. This poster feels truly underground, so much so that I doubt it’s made in a place where posters have to get approved. However, I could be completely wrong. We’ll see.

The synopsis of “The Dark Knight Rises,” according to IMDB is:

“Eight years after the events of ‘The Dark Knight,’ the terrorist leader Bane arrives in Gotham City, pushing it and its police force to their limits, forcing its former hero Batman to resurface after taking the fall for Harvey Dent’s crimes.”
