Charlie Sheen has apologized to his ‘Two and a Half Men’ replacement, Ashton Kutcher, for criticizing his work on the hit CBS sitcom, the L.A. Times is reporting. However, Sheen signed the note of apology as Charlie Harper, his now-deceased character on the show.

Sheen, who delivered the apology via Twitter, wrote: “Dear Ashton-My bad. I was disrespectful to a man doing his best. I got excited and threw you into a crossfire. The rest of my statement I stand behind. You, however, deserve better. Safety in your travels good sir. -The “late” Charlie Harper.”

The apology comes after Sheen called TMZ Live on February 16, 2012, saying he’s tired of lying and “pretending the show doesn’t suck. I’m tired of pretending (Ashton) doesn’t suck. I’m tired of pretending that they’re not completely adrift…When you take away the anchor of your show, which they stupidly did, you go adrift….These guys are approaching salvage vessel.”

However, the current season of ‘Two and a Half Men’ with Kutcher is doing better in the ratings than the last few seasons with Sheen did. But the actor, who can next be seen on the FX sitcom ‘Anger Management,’ blamed the writers for the show going downhill. He added that he feels bad for Kutcher, as “he’s saddled with such bad writing…There’s just nothing about it that’s fresh or interesting. I forget that it’s on the air,” Sheen added.
