Studios release poster after poster rocking brand new logos for their films all the time, but rarely do we get a new logo for the studio itself. In honor of its 100th anniversary, Universal Pictures is getting a fresh animated logo design. The image makes its big debut this weekend in front of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.

Universal Studios President and COO Ron Meyer explained, “Universal’s new logo celebrates the studio’s extraordinary legacy in creating lasting movie memories and connecting viewers across the globe.” Universal enlisted in the help of Academy Award-winning visual effects artists at Weta Digital to come up with something that would honor the company’s legacy identity of a “global vision.” The design was inspired by satellite imagery that showed the Earth on a clear night from space, the dots of bright lights meant to symbolize the communities that are united through their shared love of film.

Check out Universal’s new logo for yourself below and keep an eye out for the rest of the studio’s centennial campaign, which will include a film restoration commitment, theme park celebrations and more.
