French actor Olivier Martinez has confirmed that he is in fact engaged to actress Halle Berry after dodging questions in the media spotlight for the last two months. Martinez, who is best known for his roles in Unfaithful and S.W.A.T., made the news public this past weekend when he opened his new restaurant Villa Azur in South Beach. While talking to the Miami Herald, Martinez said “yes, of course it’s true,” when asked if he popped the big question to the X-Men actress.
This comes after Halle Berry was seen back in January donning a rock on her ring finger. Shortly after a jeweler by the name of Garhan tried to take credit for the Emerald engagement ring but Martinez was quick to clear the air. “There is a jeweler taking credit for doing the ring and it’s all a lie. They have nothing to do with this.” The actress’ engagement ring was actually designed by Parisian jeweler Robert Mazlo, a “real artist,” according to Martinez, who has been making jewelry for kings and queens for many centuries. It isn’t clear just yet when Halle Berry, who once stated that she will never marry again, and Olivier Martinez plan to tie the knot.
