A new photo of the CW’s ‘Green Arrow’ has been dropped to the web. The first look features actor Stephen Amell (Private Practice, New Girl) all geared up as Oliver Queen, a.k.a. the Green Arrow, an eligible and wealthy bachelor by day, and a vigilante at night. The DC superhero series is slated to debut on CW’s lineup (if the show is officially picked up) and comes from director David Nutter who has informed fans that the reboot will be darker and heavier than the world of ‘Green Arrow’ (played by Justin Hartley) in CW’s Smallville that starred Tom Welling.
“When I directed the pilot for Smallville, I knew that making Clark Kent relatable would be the key to audiences believing in him as a hero”, Nutter told TVGuide.com in a recent interview. “Arrow is a different show — darker and harder-edged — but it’s the same core idea. We’re creating a real, believable world in which Oliver Queen can do incredible things.”
Brian Q. Miller from the Superboy series has also spoken about the show at Wondercon, calling the ‘Green Arrow’ series “really cool. When it comes out, watch it,” he stated. Get another look at the promo pick and tell us what you think. The ‘Green Arrow’ costume was designed by Colleen Atwood.
