At this year’s Eve Fanfest, Brandon Laurino (Dust 514 producer) revealed plans for a 2013 expansion for the massively-multiplayer first-person shooter set inside the Eve universe.

When Dust launches later this year on PS3 there will already be a lot of connectivity between Eve players on the PC and Dust players on PlayStation 3 – console players can call in orbital strikes from Eve players’ spaceships, for instance, and many of the missions that you accept as a Dust 514 mercenary will have been put on the table by Eve players and corporations.

Laurino confirmed that you’ll be able to fight on hostile planets such as lava-coated, gaseous and sub-zero environment (or indeed fight over them, if you’re an Eve Online player) and that MTACs will be playable in Dust 514 in the 2013 expansion.

Dust 514 will be free to play on PlayStation 3 and launches later this year.
