New set photos have emerged from the Michael Bay production ‘Pain and Gain’. Seen in the images is co-star’s Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Shooter star Mark Wahlberg all bulked up for the drama that has been adapted from the 1999 Miami Times article that details the true story of “a pair of Florida bodybuilders who get caught up an extortion ring and kidnapping scheme that goes terribly wrong,” according to Worst Previews.com.
Photos were taken on location in Miami and feature both The Rock and Wahlberg hard at work on the set. ‘Pain and Gain’ is said to be a low-budget $20 million thriller from the Transformers director. The film also stars Anthony Mackie, Ed Harris, Rob Corddry, Tony Shalhoub, Rebel Wilson, and Bar Paly. Bay is producing with Donald De Line and Ian Bryce. Both ‘Captain America’ writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely wrote the script for the action thriller. The movie will be distributed by Paramount Pictures, where it has been rumored to be in development since 2001, with an official release date that has yet to be announced.
