Lance Bass and Emmanuelle Chriqui began their battle today to see who can raise the most money for their favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Colon Cancer Canada, in the Power of 2. The charity initiative is dedicated to unlocking celebrity power for social good. Whoever loses the battle must perform a crazy stunt.
The former ‘On the Line’ co-stars will use social media to meaningfully impact social issues and educate their fans. Fans can donate $2 or more on the Power of 2′s website as many times as they want until midnight on Thursday, June 14.
If the former ‘N SYNC singer wins the battle, the ‘Entourage’ actress will have to sing with Steel Panther at the House of Blues on Sunset Boulevard. Bass said he knows Chriqui has a fear of singing in public, “so if I’m going to win this Power of 2 wager I want to see her hit the stage.” He added that the battle “is such a great, and easy, opportunity for all of us to use social media for good.”
But if Chriqui wins, Bass will dress up as PooFu the dog, which he wore for one of his first jobs. The actress will walk him through L.A.’s Runyoun Canyon, the area’s most popular dog walking spot. “I lost my mother to colon cancer at a very young age and my father continues to battle the disease,” she said. “This is a cause very close to my heart…I’ve made it my mission to promote awareness and take the shame out of getting tested.”
