Now that filming has begun on ‘Iron Man 3′ with the cast and crew shooting on location in Wilmington, North Carolina a new set photo has emerged. The first look features Robert Downey Jr. in his role as Tony Stark standing in front of an array of Iron Man suits. Seen in the background is parts and pieces of Stark’s suit strewn across the ground. This latest installment is due out in theaters on May 3rd 2013. So far the plot has been kept under wraps with several outlets surmising that the comic book adaption will follow writer Warren Ellis’ comic book series entitled ‘Extremis’.
Talking about the movie, here’s what Marvel president Kevin Feige had to say about the upcoming film. “It’s Tony’s most personal journey since he was trapped in a cave in the first half of the first movie, but it’ll also have the largest spectacle of any of the Iron Man movies.” Aside from Downey Jr. reprising his role as the titular character, actress Gwyneth Paltrow is back as Pepper Potts along with Don Cheadle as Rhodey. Also on board is Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, James Badge Dale, and Jon Favreau. Iron Man 3 will continue to shoot under the direction of Shane Black, filming in both Raleigh and Durham, North Carolina, as well as Miami, Florida, and China.
