Lindsay Lohan lied to police on Friday after her car accident by telling them that she wasn’t driving the Porsche that slammed into a truck on the Pacific Coast Highway, TMZ is reporting. As a result of her lying, she may be prosecuted, and her probation could be revoked.
When the ‘Liz & Dick’ actress was in the hospital getting examined after the accident, she was visited by police from the Santa Monica Police Department. Lohan told them that she was a passenger in the Porsche and her assistant was driving. But her assistant later said that Lohan was the one driving.
Police are writing a report that will include Lohan’s lie. It’s a crime to provide false information to a police officer. The lying can trigger a probation violation in her shoplifting case, which can lead to the possibility of jail on two counts.
Witnesses at the scene said both Lohan and her assistant both got out of the car on the passenger side. It seems as though the actress came up with the lie fright after the accident. As a result, Shawn Holley, Lohan’s lawyer, rushed to the hospital, but arrived after police interviewed her client.
Lohan didn’t seem concerned about the accident this morning, as she arrived on the set of her Lifetime movie based on Elizabeth Taylor’s life looking calm. She arrived on set in a black SUV, and climbed out of the passenger side.
