Oprah Winfrey and 50 Cent settled their six-year feud on the talk show host’s new show on OWN, ‘Next Chapter,’ TMZ is reporting. The reconciliation comes after Winfrey sat down with the rapper, and she said “I heard you have a dog named Oprah…that was not a compliment.”
In response, 50 Cent said “I love you…you know how they say a dog is a man’s best friend?” He added that he named his dog Oprah because at the time, “I was just looking at the situation and I saw I was developing negative feelings for someone who doesn’t even know me.”
50 Cent added that he felt Winfrey’s famous attack against the use of the N-word and degradation of women in hip-hop felt like a personal attack. “I would see moments where you would discuss your feelings on the culture, and everything that was wrong with the culture was on my CD…and I was like, ‘She doesn’t like me,’” he added.
The rapper also said he got a cat and named it Gayle, after Winfrey’s best friend Gayle King. 50 Cent also told Winfrey that he pampers the animals, and even hires a babysitter to take care of them while he’s out of town.
