Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes both visited New York City during the weeks leading up to the ‘Jack and Jill’ star filing for divorce, but didn’t spend time together, TMZ is reporting. The ‘Rock of Ages’ star was in New York for a few days the second week of June to film a movie. However, he didn’t stay in the apartment he shares with his estranged wife, rather staying at The Greenwich Hotel.
Cruise never visited the apartment because Holmes was splitting her time between there and a new apartment she recently moved into. The two actors were photographed separately as they were in New York, but never together.
However, Holmes reportedly brought Suri to visit her father at the hotel on two occasions for a few hours. The visits were unexpected, and Cruise’s own security didn’t even know the two were coming.
Employees at the building of Cruise and Holmes’ shared apartment have said they can’t remember the last time they have seen him. While the two actors were reportedly having problems for some time, Cruise and his team have said they had no idea that Holmes was planning on filing for divorce.
