A first look at actress Naomi Watts as Princess Diana has hit the web. The image with Watts donning short blonde hair and a gold dress comes from the set of the forthcoming biopic ‘Caught in Flight’ that is currently filming in Croatia. The film is being directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel with a script from writer Steven Jeffreys. Speaking back in February about tackling the role of Princess Diana, Watts shared “It is such an honor to be able to play this iconic role. Princess Diana was loved across the world and I look forward to rising to the challenge of playing her on screen.”
‘Caught in Flight’ will chronicle the Princess’ top secret romance with heart surgeon Dr. Hasnat Kahn, who reportedly was “the love of her life.” The pair met back in 1995 at the Royal Brompton Hospital where Diana was visiting her friend who was recovering from heart surgery. Kahn kept the affair secret until he decided to reveal their relationship to The Telegraph back in 2008. The movie also stars actors Naveen Andrews in the role of Diana’s love and Charles Edwards.
