News about “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” has been slow ever since the first screening of the footage, which left a lot of people disturbed by the film quality. It would seem that the embarrassment of the first screening is gone as Warner Bros. soldiers on by putting out 10 new “Hobbit” photos!

You can see the photos at Entertainment Weekly, and if you were dismayed by what you heard about the footage, these photos just might re-inspire you to be excited about the film. Granted, it’d take a lot more than unfinished film for fans to decide not to be excited about “The Hobbit,” especially with in-demand actors and “Sherlock” castmates Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch on board.

Along with the photos is a quote from Freeman, who said he’s not as hobbit-ish in real life as his character, aside from his love of privacy and comfort. There are also some quotes from Ian McKellen, Mark Hadlow, director Peter Jackson (who claims that even though Cate Blanchett’s character Galadriel isn’t in the book version of “The Hobbit,” she’ll make sense to the film’s story) and more.

Since we’ve been discussing “The Hobbit” footage in this post, you should probably also know that there will be more footage shown at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. I’m sure this time around, though, fans will leave stoked.
