Disney star and singer Demi Lovato has been confirmed as the official host of this year’s 2012 Teen Choice Awards. The news that the newly appointed judge of The X Factor would take the reigns was revealed on Twitter. “Yes. The rumors are true @ddlovato is hosting Teen Choice this year!!!! Will all you lovatics be watching?” the official Twitter page for the awards event confirmed.
Last year The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco hosted the annual event. This year viewers can expect to see Lovato lead the awards with special musical performances by singer Justin Bieber, Call Me Maybe’s Carly Rae Jepsen, Flo Rida, DJ Pauly D and surprisingly No Doubt. So You Think You Can Dance’s host, Cat Deeley, Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Miley Cyrus, New Girl’s Zooey Deschanel, and Ellen DeGeneres will also be on board at the show, as well as Jason Derulo, actor Zac Efron, Selena Gomez, Lucy Hale of ‘Pretty Little Liars’, Josh Hutcherson, Victoria Justice and pop singer Taylor Swift. The 2012 Teen Choice Awards is scheduled to air live on the FOX Network this coming July 22nd at 8 P.M. ET. Voting for the Teen Choice Awards nominees is reportedly underway and will end July 21st.
