If you were looking forward to a fight between music stars Drake and Chris Brown, this will come as bad news. According to StarzLife and RumorFix,Celebrity Boxing promoter Damon Feldman has confirmed that the charity fight won’t be happening.
The $5 million offered by FilmOn’s Alki David wasn’t enough to make Drake commit to the fight. Feldman said to RumorFix, “Drake won’t box. He said he doesn’t want to go that route. So basically he punked out. There will be no fight now.”
According to Feldman, the fight would have ended the feud between Brown and Drake. “The boxing match would have settled the grudge and helped charities. I’m pissed because Chris Brown wanted this and everything was set!”
Feldman also released a statement about the fight, stating:
“Just want to thank everyone for your help with the Drake vs Chris Brown Celebrity Boxing match. [A]fter talking to Drake and his associate, this weekend, Drake will not be stepping into a boxing ring against Brown! So Chris wins on a default! Floyd Mayweather Sr., who was to train one of the stars, says Drake pulled out because he heard [Mayweather] was going to train Chris Brown… The match was scheduled for September 22 in Las Vegas[.] Chris did accept verbally, but we needed both stars to sign[.] This is a real let down and a lot of money is now lost that would of went to charities. Drake basically turned down $5 million dollar Pay Day for three one-minute rounds with [b]ig [g]loves and [h]eadgear by my investor Filmon.com…Its time to Move on!”
