The executive producing team of Craig Zadan and Neil Meron have recently signed a two-year deal with Sony Pictures Television for TV movies and miniseries, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The duo are currently readying two high-profile projects as part of the deal.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Zadan and Meron are preparing miniseries revolving around Bonnie & Clyde for The History Channel. The network had record-setting ratings success and Emmy recognition for its “Hatfields and McCoys” miniseries, and they are hoping for the same success with a four-hour effort about the famed outlaws, with writing duo John Rice and Joe Batteer (“Windtalkers”).

Rice and Batteer will also write an Anna Nicole Smith biopic for Lifetime for Zadan and Meron. Art Monterastelli will write a TV movie about the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints’ jailed leader Warren Jeffs.

Judith Verno will executive produce both projects with Zadan and Meron. Lifetime aims to continue their relationship with Zadan and Meron, who executive produce “Drop Dead Diva” and are developing a remake of Steel Magnolias for the network.

These three projects are just a few of the things Zadan and Meron have in the works. In addition to their deal with Sony Pictures Television, the two have recently signed an overall deal for TV series and specials with Universal Television and NBCUniversal. The duo is readying a live broadcast special of the 1959 stage musical “The Sound of Music,” which will probably broadcast around the holidays on NBC.
