Ellen Page is claiming that a crazed fan, who has been stalking her on Twitter, has sent her multiple death threats, TMZ is reporting. The ‘Juno’ star has asked the LAPD for help, and officers have recently sent out a search warrant to the micro-blogging website.
The warrant demands information regarding two Twitter accounts believed to be associated with a person determined to kill the Academy Award-nominated actress. The warrant states that the two accounts sent Page multiple messages in June, including “I’m going to murder Ellen page. She’s dead.”
After Page was spotted with her co-star, Alexander Skarsgard, from the upcoming action mystery ‘The East,’ in June, the fan also sent her threats regarding the ‘true Blood’ actor. One message read “Ellen Page if you continue to date Alexander I will K-I-L-L you in public in the next year…Be it in a club, in a restaurant or when you’re signing autographs.”
The officer has said the tweets have been removed. The LAPD added that the tweets coincided with a telephone call the non-profit that organizes the LA Film Festival. Page’s latest film, ‘To Rome with Love,’ premiered there on June 14, and the caller reportedly promised to kill Page at the festival.
There’s no word yet on the identity of the person who sent the tweets, which have since been removed. Page’s reps have not publicly commented on the case, but the investigation is still ongoing.
