Jeff Daniels, who is currently leading Aaron Sorkin’s ‘The Newsroom’, has dropped word that ‘Dumb and Dumber 2’ is in the works. The 1994 comedy that was directed by Peter Farrelly with the help of his brother Bobby will go into production in 2013 according to Daniels who shared the news with Daily Star. “We almost were able to kinda get it done this year, but they’re still working on the script,” he said. “Jim wants to do it. I want to do it and The Farrelly’s want to do it. We’re all hoping that’ll come together early next year.”
This latest tidbit regarding ‘Dumb and Dumber 2’ comes after a time when it was thought that lead star Jim Carrey, who played Lloyd Christmas opposite Daniels as Harry Dunne in the film, would not be interested in returning. “I would have thought Dumb And Dumber Two was a no-brainer, after all it’s implied in the title,” Carrey’s camp informed ET back in June after the idea of a sequel was revealed in April. So far word on whether or not director Peter Farrelly will return to the chair is still unknown. Tell us what you think about ‘Dumb & Dumber 2′. Is a follow up to the hilarious movie good news?
