Kristen Stewart has dropped out of Nick Cassavetes’ upcoming action comedy ‘Cali’ in order to win Robert Pattinson back, Celebuzz is reporting. A source close to the production of ‘The Notebook’ helmer’s latest film said Stewart was “so distraught over (Rob) that she can’t focus on anything but getting him back. She can’t bear to be without (Rob).”
But Stewart’s decision is causing havoc on ‘Cali’s production, as she spent the past few months not only preparing for her role, but also working as a producer on the film. As a producer, Stewart was overseeing the selection of Cassavetes and her co-star, Alex Pettyfer. The director and the actor both reportedly turned down other projects to work with the actress and producer.
The source also said everyone involved with ‘Cali’ was willing to give Stewart time to recover from the scandal from her affair with her married ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ director, Rupert Sanders. “But it doesn’t seem to matter. She’s lost all interest in work and the projects she was so passionate about just two weeks ago…The star’s main focus remains on (Rob) and what she can do to get him back,” the source added.
Some actresses being considered for Stewart’s replacement include Amber Heard and Academy Award-nominee Carey Mulligan. ‘Cali,’ which was supposed to be released into theaters next year, follows a couple who comes out of hiding to save the girlfriend’s sister.
Pattinson is expected to make his first public appearance since Stewart’s affair became public on Monday on ‘The Daily Show.’ He’ll follow that with an appearance on Tuesday morning on ‘Good Morning America.’
