It has just marked a year since the death of Amy Winehouse and now comes news that the Rehab singer’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil is currently in a coma. According to reports from both EW and New York Daily News, the 30-year old Blake is on life support due to organ failure after what many are citing was an overdose. He was discovered by the mother of his son, Sarah Aspin, just six days ago on August 3rd in bed choking. “His eyes were rolled back and his mouth was locked together,” Aspin revealed. The two share a 15-month-old son named Jack.
He was then brought to a hospital located in West Yorkshire, England. “The doctors say they don’t know the prognosis. They said they put him in a coma to help him and due to infection,” Aspin has informed the press. “I’m praying he’ll survive, but I’m having to prepare myself that he may never wake up.” Amy Winehouse’s father, Mitch, has since sent his prayers to Blake Fielder-Civil via Twitter. “Terrible news about Blake this morning. Remember Amy loved him. Let’s pray for his recovery. Mitch,” the late performer’s father shared with fans. The troubled Blake Fielder-Civil, who was just released from jail after serving time for burglary, became involved with Winehouse in 2005. The couple were married for two years up until 2009.
