With the third season of ‘Boardwalk Empire’ set to premiere on Sunday, September 16 at 9pm on HBO, the cable network has released the new trailer for the prohibition drama. The trailer shows that Enoch ‘Nucky’ Thompson, played by Steve Buscemi, has a new rival in fellow gangster Gyp Rosetti, portrayed by Bobby Cannavale.
The third season of ‘Boardwalk Empire’ will follow those willing to engage in the illegal distribution of alcohol in 1923. Prohibition continues to line the pockets of those participating in the illegal sales. Nucky has seemingly put aside any misconceptions he had about being both a well-respected public figure and Atlantic City’s most notorious gangster. His role in Atlantic City is being considered up for grabs by his enemies, and even by some of his friends.
Nucky also deals with the fallout from last season with Margaret, played by Kelly Macdonald. He seemingly hasn’t been able to forgive her for making a donation to the church in his name.
