Academy Award-winning cinematographer Robert Richardson was arrested on Friday night on suspicion of DUI, TMZ is reporting. The cinematographer, who has worked on such Oscar-winning films as as ‘Aviator’ and ‘Hugo,’ was driving around Los Angeles when a police officer pulled him over for a traffic violation around 9:25pm. The officer smelled alcohol on Richardson’s breath and asked him to get out of the car.
Richardson was ordered to perform field sobriety tests, which he reportedly failed. The cinematographer for ‘Django Unchained’ and ‘Inglorious Basterds’ allegedly had a blood alcohol level almost twice the legal limit. He spent the night in jail and was released early yesterday morning.
