A man convicted of stalking Rihanna, Zentil Vanzellas, spent 277 days in jail after being convicted of stalking the singer in 2010, TMZ is reporting. Vanzellas was sent to jail after he pled no contest to allegations he was harassing Rihanna at her Los Angeles home, and the judge deemed him a credible threat.
Vanzellas, who the judge also acknowledged that Rihanna had reason to fear, is now living in the same city as the singer. But he was ordered to stay at least 500 yards from Rihanna for 10 years, and was put on three years probation, after being released from L.A. County Jail.
Vanzellas told TMZ he’s sorry for all of the trouble he caused for Rihanna, and insisted he’ll leave her alone. The singer has not publicly commented on his release, however.
