‘Friday’ star Tommy ‘Tiny’ Lister, best known for playing Debbo in the hit comedy-drama, agreed yesterday to plead guilty in federal court of conspiring to commit mortgage fraud, TMZ is reporting. The fraud led to $3.8 million in losses for unsuspecting lenders.
According to Lister’s plea agreement, he admitted to a scheme in which he and several other people conspired to obtain four different mortgages on homes in L.A. using false information and bank statements. The actor later admitted that he and his co-conspirators collected mortgages worth $5.7 million. They later defaulted on all four mortgages, costing the lenders $2.6 million.
Lister now faces up to five years in federal prison. The actor is due to appear in court to answer to the charges later this month.
