Miss Piggy served as the official fire girl last night at DKNY Madison Avenue’s Fashion’s Night Out Event in New York, which honored the FDNY 2013 Calendar of Heroes. ‘The Muppets’ star was dressed in a complete DKNY outfit as she celebrated the event at the design company’s Madison Avenue boutique. She was joined by Donna Karan; New York City photographer Patrick McMullan, who shot the annual calendar; and the 13 FDNY firefighters who are featured in next year’s calendar.
All proceeds from the sale of the 2013 calendar, as well as a portion of last night’s sales, will benefit the FDNY Foundation, which promotes fire safety for residents of New York City. The foundation also provides professional development, training and education for FDNY members.
Miss Piggy was excited about being chosen as the official fire girl for DKNY Madison Avenue’s Fashion’s Night Out Event. She said “DKNY and the FDNY rolled out the fire-engine red carpet tonight for moi and for a fabulous cause. What a tres fantastique evening in the company of one of moi’s favorite designers, New York City’s hottest heroes, and a photographer whose next job will surely be a fashion spread for moi!”
Miss Piggy posed for pictures with Karan and McMullan at the DKNY Madison Avenue boutique while celebrating the FDNY 2013 Calendar of Heroes event. Photographers also snapped Miss Piggy’s picture on an FDNY truck outside the boutique.
Fashion’s Night Out is a global initiative to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the industry’s economy during the recession and put the fun back in shopping. In the United States, the program is a collaboration between American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company and the City of New York.
