A surveillance video has cleared Miley Cyrus in the criminal battery case brought against her last weekend, TMZ is reporting. The case was filed by another clubgoer at Beacher’s madhouse theater at the Rooseveld Hotel in Hollywood. The video from the theater has allegedly been turned over to the police, but the investigation is still on-going.
Police officials have reportedly interviewed both the ‘So Undercover’ star and her fiancé, Liam Hemsworth, about the incident, which occurred on Saturday, September 8. The alleged victim in the case filed a police report early the next morning with the LAPD. He alleged that he and his friends were sitting behind the two actors when he and his friends accidentally bumped into Hemsworth’s chair. The two parties exchanged words, with an argument quickly escalating.
The victim said the Hemsworth came close to his face, and Cyrus jumped between the two to break up the fight. Cyrus also allegedly pushed the victim and struck him in the face. However, the victim didn’t have any visible injuries from the fight.
A witness to the incident said he saw the argument, and Cyrus never the a punch. Cyrus’ rep told TMZ “this claim is completely false and erroneous.”
Cyrus and the ‘Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ actor were reportedly interviewed separately about the alleged fight. Both told detectives that the fight started when the other clubgoer bumped into Hemswroth’s chair. The two actors also insisted that Cyrus never punched the other man. It’s being reported that no charges will be filed against Cyrus, in part because of the surveillance video.
