The new horror action thriller ‘The Collection’ will kick off the 12th annual Screamfest festival on Friday, October 12 at 8pm. The film was directed by Marcus Dunstand, who co-wrote the script with fellow ‘Saw IV,’ ‘Saw V,’ ‘Saw VI’ and ‘Saw 3D’ scribe Patrick Melton.

‘The Collection’ follows a traumatized man, Arkin, played by Josh Stewart, as he’s forced to rescue a beautiful woman, Elena, portrayed by Emma Fitzpatrick, from a crazed killer. She’s kidnapped by the killer while attending an underground rave party with her friends, and is taken to a bobby-trapped house of horrors. After the other victims are murdered by a masked psychopath, Elena is the only survivor.

Before Elena can escape, however, she’s locked in a trunk and transported to an unknown location. Arkin knows where the killer’s taking her, though, as he just escaped himself. Elena’s wealthy father, played by Christopher McDonald, hires mercenaries to force Arkin to lead them to the killer’s lair. But the team isn’t prepared for the abandoned hostel-turned-torture chamber they encounter.

Dunstan, Melton, Stewart and Fitzpatrick will be in attendance for the opening night screening of ‘The Collector’ at Screamfest. The film, which will was produced by Liddell Entertainment and Fortress Features, will be released by LD Entertainment on November 30.

Screamfest, the largest and longest running horror festival in the United States, will run in Los Angeles between October 12 through October 21 at LA Live Regal Cinemas (1000 West Olympic Blvd.). Additional titles will be announced soon. For ticket information, visit Screamfest’s official website, or email info@screamfestla.com.
