Lindsay Lohan is facing four new criminal charges today in both Los Angeles and New York, TMZ is reporting. The Santa Monica City Attorney will charge the ‘Liz & Dick’ star with three crimes today in connection with her car accident last June on the Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica. The actress was also arrested in New York this morning for assault, which can provide a reason to revoke her probation.
After hitting her Porsche into a truck in June in Santa Monica, Lohan lied to police. She told them she was the passenger in the car, even though she was really the driver. In connection with the accident, the Santa Monica City Attorney will charge her with giving false information to a peace officer, which is punishable by up to six months in jail.
Lohan will also face charges of obstructing or resisting a police officer in the performance of his duty, which is punishable by one year in jail. The actress also faces a charge of reckless driving, which is punishable by 90 days in jail.
When Lohan is arraigned in Los Angeles, which will likely be next week, the judge will revoke her probation the jewelry heist case. The judge will also set a hearing to determine if Lohan will go to jail for a long period of time. One of the conditions of her probation is that she obeys all laws.
