Jennifer Lee has signed on to join Chris Buck at the helm of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 53rd full-length animated feature, ‘Frozen.’ The ‘Wreck-It Ralph’ scribe also contributed to the screenplay for ‘Frozen,’ which is set to hit theaters on November 27, 2013.

The animated family comedy features the voices of Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel. It follows a prophecy that traps a kingdom in eternal winter, leading Anna, a fearless optimist, to team up with extreme mountain man Kristoff and his sidekick reindeer Sven. The three embark on a journey to find Anna’s sister Elsa, the Snow Queen, and put an end to her spell. Along the way, Anna, Kristoff and Sven encounter mystical trolls, a funny snowman named Olaf, Everest-like extremes and magic at every turn. Anna and Kristoff battle the elements to save the kingdom from destruction.

‘Frozen’ producer Peter Del Vecho said the pairing of directors Lee and Buck for the film is perfect. Lee “has a real connection to the film and creates dynamic and relatable characters. Her sense of comedy, adventure and story structure paired with Chris Buck’s vast experience and incredible instincts create an ideal situation for this film.”
