The Lone Ranger Experiences Adventure in New Official Movie Trailer

The anticipated reboot of ‘The Lone Ranger’ is embarking on a new journey in its second official trailer. The trailer follows the iconic title character, John Reid (played by Armie Hammer), as he awakens on a mountain and encounters a Native American spirit warrior, Tonto (portrayed by Johnny Depp), who’s seen talking to a white horse. Pointing a gun at Tonto, John asks why he’s alive, to which the Native American initially has no answer. Tonto then reveals that John has been to the other side, but has come back to fight evil. The Lone Ranger agrees to help Tonto, but insists they fight greed and corruption, in order to seek justice.

Gore Verbinski, who previously directed Depp in the original ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ trilogy and ‘Rango,’ helmed the action Western, which is set to be theatrically released on July 3, 2013. ‘The Lone Ranger,’ which was penned by Justin Haythe, Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio, was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, and will be distributed by Walt Disney Pictures.
