While the royal palace is pleased about the recent announcement of Kate Middleton’s pregnancy, no one would be more happy about the news than Prince William’s late mother, Princess Diana, Naomi Watts told Celebuzz. The Academy Award-nominated actress, who is playing the princess in the upcoming film ‘Diana,’ did extensive research on the royal family for her role. She said the people’s princess would have been overjoyed to learn that her older son is expecting a child.
Watts added that she feels for the Duchess of Cambridge, “but she seems like a level-headed girl.” The Australian actress also said that Middleton can probably handle her life in the public eye. “Obviously, there’s been some preparation, I’m sure,” she said.
As for the media coverage of Middleton’s pregnancy, photographers were waiting to see the 30-year-old mother to be after she was admitted to the King Edward VII’s Hospital in London. “The media is very different now then it was back then,” Watts said, referring to Diana’s death in 1997, when her car lost control during a high-speed paparazzi chase in Paris. “It was all new back then and now I think we’ve been living with it,” the actress also said.
