A new trailer has finally been unveiled following the release of several set photos from Michael Bay’s new thriller ‘Pain & Gain’. The brief clip shows the true story of the Sun Gym Gang played by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson (Walking tall), Mark Wahlberg (Shooter) and Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker). The trio play a group of juiced up weightlifters who plot out a scenario of kidnapping and extortion to gain money from a rich gym acquaintance, Victor Kershaw. Rebel Wilson (Bridesmaids), Ed Harris (Milk Money) and Tony Shalhoub (The Monk) also star in the movie that is based on the 1999 real life story of Florida death row inmates Daniel Lugo and Adrian Doorba.
Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely wrote the screenplay for the $25 million film. The ‘Pain & Gain’ trailer features the guys as they try to scheme their way to the top, party, workout and attempt to get out of the sights of Harris’ Ed Du Bois, a detective that’s out for blood after they fail to successfully do away with Victor Kershaw. Check out the trailer for the April 26, 2013 release below. The thriller comes from Paramount Pictures an is the lowest budgeted production Bay has been on since ‘Bad Boys’.
