Rec Director Jaume Balaguero Creating Nightmares on Sleep Tight DVD

The latest acclaimed horror-thriller from celebrated ‘Rec’ director Jaume Balaguero, ‘Sleep Tight,’ is set to be released on high-definition Blu-ray and DVD from Dark Sky Films on Tuesday. The movie, which is described to have “one of the most charismatic villains in recent cinema,” follows the residents of a sleek apartment building, who would never suspect that he quiet man who opens the door for them has a dark secret.

The film follows the residents of an everyday Barcelona apartment building, with doorman Cesar (played by Luis Tosar) harboring a dark secret. His sole desire in life is to make other people unhappy. He sets his sights on Clara (portrayed by Marta Etura), one of the building’s cheeriest residents, and his need turns into a full-fledged obsession.

Cesar embarks on a series of private and physical violations against Clara, and he becomes determined to ruin her life by any means necessary. He brings her nightmares to life, and his fascination with tormenting her becomes manically unquenchable.

‘Sleep Tight,’ which is in Spanish with English subtitles, was written by Alberto Marini. The Blu-ray is being sold for $29.98, while the DVD is retailing for $24.98. The film was nominated for more than 20 awards in Spain, winning six Gaudi Awards, including Best Director, Best Actor for Tosar and Best Screenplay.
