Britney Spears is mourning the loss of her beloved paternal grandfather, “Paw-Paw” June Spears Sr., who died at the age of 82 on December 16 after a long battle with cancer, Celebuzz is reporting. The singer’s uncle, Allen Stewart, said she attended the services in Louisiana with her fiancé, Jason Trawick, and her sons, Sean Preston, 7, and Jayden James, 6.
Stewart, who is married to the ‘I Wanna Go’ singer’s aunt, Jeanine Spears Stewart, said everyone was crying at the funeral. He added that Britney “was very upset about her Paw-Paw and spent Christmas at her mom’s nearby. We will all miss him, but he’s in a better place.”
Stewart also said the Spears family doesn’t pay much attention to Britney’s life in the spotlight. “We don’t care about how much money she makes or if she’s on TV…having her around with the kids is good enough, especially when the kids can meet their cousins and nephews. It’s about having family in your life,” he said.
Speaking of Trawick, Stewart said he likes his niece’s new fiancé, and added he’s very down-to-earth. He also said that June liked Trawick as well, and gave his granddaughter his blessing to marry him. Stewart added that Britney has been on a much better track since she started her relationship with Trawick.
