Police rushed to Tom Cruise’s Beverly Hills estate this afternoon, after someone placed a prank 911 call, saying an intruder had broken onto his property, TMZ is reporting. The ‘Jack Reacher‘ star is the latest Hollywood celebrity to become a swatting victim, during which someone falsely reported there was an armed intruder on his property.
Beverly Hills police searched Cruise’s home, but found nothing. Law enforcement officials said the incident appears the latest of celebrity swatting. The actor wasn’t at home during the incident, and the only people who were on the property were security officers and a cook.
The search of Cruise’s estate comes after a 12-year-old was recently arrested for allegedly committing a swatting prank against Ashton Kutcher and Justin Bieber. Miley Cyrus was also the victim of a swatting prank in August. Los Angeles police rushed to her apartment, after receiving a report of a possible break-in. When officers searched the property, they didn’t find any evidence a crime was committed.
