Watching the Grammys red carpet last night was a bit of a snore. If you’re like me, you’re probably used to seeing tons of skin, risque clothing and crazy costumes. Sadly, there wasn’t much of that this time around.
For this Grammy Awards show, CBS sent a memo to all attendants, stating that dresses showing “bare fleshy under curves of buttocks,” “bare sides and under curvature of the breasts” and other “puffy” areas were not allowed.
Most people went by the rules, but there were a few rule breakers, such as Katy Perry in her extra-boob-revealing seafoam Gucci dress. The biggest offender was Jennifer Lopez, whose black Anthony Vaccarello dress not only had one shoulder and arm out, but also had a huge slit that went to the very top of her thigh.
For the most part, the attendants went towards the glam route, opting for flowing gowns (like Rihanna’s red Azzedine Alaia dress), modest statement dresses (like Florence Welch’s emerald green Givenchy Couture dress) or pants (like BeyoncĂ©’s black and white Osman pantsuit).
Overall, though, the red carpet was a bit…boring. If you watched the Grammys red carpet? What did you think? Give your opinions in the comments section below.
