Charlie Sheen is defending Joe Roth, one of the producers of his FX sitcom ‘Anger Management,’ in a new lawsuit, TMZ is reporting. The lawsuit was filed against the producer by Jason Shuman, who claims he’s responsible for turning the hit 2003 Adam Sandler film into the television show. Shuman is seeking more than $50 million in retribution.
The actor subsequently filed a declaration, saying he was involved in developing the ‘Anger Management’ show from the beginning. Sheen said he jumped at the chance to be involved with the show, as “there had been a lot of publicity over the preceding few months as to whether I might have my own ‘anger management’ issues.”
Sheen added that “The irony of my portraying an anger management therapist (as opposed to an anger management patient) appealed to me. I also thought that my recent association with anger management situations would appeal to a television audience.”
