Spring Breakers looks like the craziest, wildest acid trip one could take. Following the exploits of four girls who rob a restaurant to fund their spring break, the girls are sprung loose by an arms dealer who wants them to do some dirty work. While it’s something of an entrance into Selena Gomez, James Franco looks absolutely nuts as the arms dealer who hires them. If that’s not enough, the visuals of the film look to be absolutely insane, and I like it.
Word on the street is that Spring Breakers will have a special screening at the South By Southwest Film Festival that’s currently going on in Austin, Texas. The festival has already premiered the remake of Evil Dead (to less than stellar word of mouth,) and if this rumor ends up being true, it’ll be interesting to see the reactions to Spring Breakers.
For the rest of us, Spring Breakers opens March 22nd, just in time for spring break.
