The cast of the cult crime mystery drama series ‘Veronica Mars’ is expressing its interest in appearing in the upcoming movie, with Percy Daggs III being the latest actor ready to sign on, TMZ is reporting. After fans of the UPN series broke film fundraising records on Kickstarter on Wednesday, generating more than $2 million in one day, the actor expressed his interest in reprising his role of Wallace Fennel.
Fans are helping to resurrect the hit television series as a movie through Kickstarter. The project had long existed in script form, but failed to get the backing it needed, until now. The news of Daggs’ interest comes after lead star Kristen Bell announced she would like to reprise her title role.
Since the Kickstarter campaign started, Daggs said it has been “amazing to watch the show’s fans respond to this campaign and the opportunity to make this film. With (creator Rob Thomas) and Kristen’s commitment to them and the series, I want to say I’m not surprised. But $2.7 million day one had to shock everybody a bit! I’d be honored to be a part of continuing this story for them onscreen.”
