Creator Rob Thomas has revealed some exciting casting news surrounding the upcoming ‘Veronica Mars’ movie. Thomas shared the addition of series regular Jason Dohring on the movie’s Kickstarter page. “Jason Dohring is officially on board for the Veronica Mars movie,” Thomas wrote. “We now have three actors officially cast. Veronica. Logan and the waiter who says, “Your check, sir.” Adding, “Don’t worry. We’re busily working on bringing your favorites into the fold. As a Veronica Mars backer, you’ll be the first to know.”
As ‘Veronica Mars’ fans will remember, Dohring played the character Logan Echolls, the troubled ex-boyfriend of Kristen Bell. The actor joins the already cast Dax Shepard (Parenthood, Hit & Run), the real-life boyfriend of Bell, who plans to make a cameo appearance. Max Greenfield is also rumored to be returning to his role as Deputy Leo. No word on whether Percy Daggs will make his way back to the story as Veronica’s best-friend Wallace. The ‘Veronica Mars’ movie will start filming this coming summer and has a target release date of early 2014.
