The new official trailer for the upcoming horror comedy sequel, ‘Hatchet III,’ has been released by Dark Sky Films. The movie is set to be theatrically released on June 14 at New York City’s Cinema Village and in Los Angeles at Laemmle Music Hall. The BJ McDonnell-directed film will also be released on the same day in theaters in Denver and Columbus, and on VOD and digital download. The cast and crew will make special appearances at screenings during opening week, and will participate in Q&A’s at each location.
‘Hatchet III’ continues the iconic villain Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder). A search and rescue teach heads into the haunted swamp to pick up the pieces left behind from the first two films. Marybeth (Danielle Harris) hunts down the secret to ending the voodoo curse that has left Crowley’s ghost haunting and terrorizing Honey Island Swamp for decades.
The second sequel in the series also stars Zach Galligan, Derek Mears, Caroline Williams and Sean Whalen. The film was shot from late May to mid-June last year, just outside of New Orleans. It’s a co-production of MPI/Dark Sky Films and screenwriter Adam Green’s Los Angeles-based ArieScope Pictures.
